Martingale roulette strategy
To begin with, the term Martingale was used to refer to a group of betting strategies. It was very popular in France in the 18th century. After each loss the bet would be doubled. So if there was a single win also, all the previous losses would be wiped out and there would be a gain too.
But unfortunately, no one would really go on betting endlessly and people would become bankrupt while using this strategy. Martingale roulette strategy is based on this strategy.

While playing roulette when you use Martingale roulette strategy you follow the ‘Doubling the bet’ strategy. The player places his bet which is a one unit bet or an ‘even money’ bet - on black or red, even or odd, high or low. If the player doesn’t win the bet then he again bets on the same choice of black or red, even or odd or high and low at double stakes. Thus the amount that he stakes goes on multiplying.
In Martingale roulette strategy the betting begins with 1 then becomes 2, then 4, then 8, and so on. If the player wins at any point of time, he collects his win and starts betting from 1 again - his winnings don’t double. In casinos there is a limit one’s losses and a player can’t go on losing endlessly. If a player doesn’t win in the set number of bets, he loses all his money.
Even today of all the roulette playing systems, the Martingale roulette strategy is the most popular and most widely used system, despite the fact that by many it is considered the worst system.
